In Plane Sight

Disclaimer: This is a rambling I wrote a few months back when I flew to Davao with no sleep at all. Posted this on Facebook but I feel like I have to save it here for writing's sake.

Her thoughts were, "Sit beside me and I'll cut you. I didn't sleep tonight," and she pretended to keep her eyes fixated on the truck of cargoes outside her window, watching the men loading baggage one by one by one,

She was listening to Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" at the moment. On shuffle, not by choice.

While she was trying her best to ignore the passengers queuing at the aisle of the plane, waiting to be seated, she heard scrambling noises beside her, Jesus, no.

An old lady tagging along a kid--(a young boy throwing a fit!)--took the aisle and middle seats next to her.

Of all the people in the world, why a kid?!

She kept her earphones plugged in her ears and blasted her music to the highest possible volume. But she can still hear the faint "Bye-bye err-plen!"

Then, she noticed her. He stared at her for quite a while, then grinned.

She was irritated--annoyed even--but she gave in.

"Whatever," she thought, and broke into a smile.
