Back in the day (not so long ago), we tend to hear people say "respect the hustle."
"Hustling" is when our careers have become the main priority in our lives that we take for granted the other aspects of becoming a human being. While we really appreciate and recognize hardworking people, a lot of us have changed our perspectives toward overworking.
When the pandemic happened, majority of us had that turning point where we stopped and thought: "Wait, what am I doing with my life?"
That's when we realized that we were so focused with work that we forgot about the other things outside work. So hustling was no longer a thing, but rather we tell ourselves to always work smart.
Work smart instead of working hard. Gone are the days when we glorified overworking.
While there are many factors to consider for us to be able to achieve working smart, maybe the first step would be changing our mindset and diverting our attention to what matters most—living life and enjoying it.
Well, if you already have that work-life balance, then good for you.
